About Nani
Lover of normalcy; connector of this and that
I’m now 40 years old and it’s tormenting to know that this precious life of mine is very short. It’s a blink of an eye, or maybe two blinks, if I get to see my 90th birthday. My biggest discovery has been this: nothing repeats itself.
Pay attention to life.
And that’s, my friend, is why I create.
As an artist I’ve dedicated my life to the search of the most mundane. The keyboard and camera are extensions of my creativity.
I was born to be a writer. I grew up to be a photographer.
Writing is like breathing, taking photos is like… making out.
As long as I remember the feeling of putting words together has been my go-to way of communicating with the world. I don’t love it, it’s just something I have to do to stay alive. All aspects of writing — reading, taking notes, observing, planning, writing, re-writing — feel mine.
In my twenties, quite unexpectedly, photography entered to my life. My first good image was of a grave stone, the second of my dog. To this day I find graveyards and dogs aesthetically pleasing.
I’ve worked as a full-time writer and photographer since 2012.
It’s been a ride.
You’ll find my words mainly from other people’s websites, but I do publish personal essays and articles via Substack.
I’ll keep my photos here, and it’d be an honor to work with you. I’m always interested in new assignments near and far.
Cheers to blinks.
